If you are tight on space then i suppose these combe drives would be okay but as far as i know they do neither the burning or the DVD playback as well as a stand alone drive. I wouldn't go down that road if i were you! IMHO http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Something I have done quite frequently with my computer is to do a direct CD to CD copy. I can do this with my DVD drive and my CD-RW drive. You would have to make an image first if you had a combo drive. I also noticed that the price of the combo drive is about the same as if you were to buy the drives separately. So unless you really need to save space, I'd say get the drives separately.

Szech if they already have a cd-rom they could copy to the combo drive with it, but I agree it's better to have separate drives-don't want to have all the eggs in one basket.
