B3 10-30-2000, 07:27 AM Hi, I am also thinking about DVD/CD-RW combo. From another hardware forum I got the following link to article with comparison of four DVD/CD-RW (Ricoh MP9060A-DP is among those four): http://www.digit-life.com/articles/dvdcdrwreview/index.html /B3 Donkey 10-30-2000, 10:02 AM If you are tight on space then i suppose these combe drives would be okay but as far as i know they do neither the burning or the DVD playback as well as a stand alone drive. I wouldn't go down that road if i were you! I can do this with my DVD drive and my CD-RW drive. You would have to make an image first if you had a combo drive. I also noticed that the price of the combo drive is about the same as if you were to buy the drives separately. So unless you really need to save space, I'd say get the drives separately. canit 10-30-2000, 03:28 PM Szech if they already have a cd-rom they could copy to the combo drive with it, but I agree it's better to have separate drives-don't want to have all the eggs in one basket. SMITHNC 11-01-2000, 06:01 PM Thankyou all for the input. I think I am going to go with separate drives, since I have the room and the power supply. Toodles! SysOpt.com
