Here's the problem: The pc is an older Compaq and the monitor is an old Proview. Sometimes a blue bar will appear across the middle of the screen that has a lot of zeros and sometimes a one and sometimes a four mixed in with all the zero's. This bar overlays the display much like a mode display to adjust the screen size and shape. It can't be screen printed or I would show you.
The mobo has been replaced with the same model as well as the monitor. At one point when the bar appeared the Proview monitor was unhooked and another monitor hooked up and the bar persisted. The bar is intermittent and it wil go for months without appearing. It seems that it is the computer causing the problem since it moves from one monitor to another but I've never known a computer to generate a bar that overlays the displayed desktop.
Any help or suggestion would be appreciated.
