Unfortunately, people are still going to buy Intel systems for the name. Kinda sad, but we can't educate the world.

Yes Rambus Please Take Intel with you!

Its pretty sad that people will be dumb enough to buy a P3 just because of the name but soon we will probally see AMD computers on the market and maybe one day inthell will go out of Biznis. one day.

Im so glad i didnt make the big mistake of buying a P3.

as a matter of fact sysopt.com saved me cuz i was gonna buy a p3 b4 i found out about the athlon I thohgt there was just a K6-2 & K6-3!

thanks for saving me!

I gotta put my $.02 in here:

first off, I have a house full of Athlons, Classic 600 Athlon, 2 (yes two) Athlon T-Birds 700 @800 (can go further), and one lonely CeleronII 533.... I used to have a bunch (read 5) K6-2s. I am sold on AMD value and quality; however, it should noted that Intel consistantly produces a quality product (and not just CPUs) and "Rambus" may technically be the superior design.

Most of the objection to Rambus that I have noticed is seemingly based (or biased) on price. The actual design concept makes more sense than any SDRAM strategy yet.

Maybe Rambus will be better than DDR. However the Betamax was better than VHS, but lost out commercially becoming limited to a niche market. Being better doesn't always translate into being more succesful commercially
