Hello all!
Ok, this time around, I have registered my domain (www.impostercity.com) and now I am ready to start inlisting it with search engines, how should I do that?
I have never done this before and so you guys can probably help me out!
thank you in advance!

There are usually instruction on how to do this at each search engine's site plus you can read this link (http://dmoz.org/add.html)
If your site has been accepted into the Open Directory, it may take anywhere from 2 weeks to several months for your site to be listed on partner sites which use the Open Directory data, such as AOL Search, DirectHit, HotBot, Google, Lycos, Netscape Search, etc. We make updates of the data available weekly, but each partner has their own update schedule.

You might also want to find a few friends (if you have any with their own sites) that would like to link to yours and then submit your site to Google. Google have been consistently up-and-coming in search engine ratings and the fact that they rely heavily on reciprocal links in order to rate their results is part of their success.
You will find that the more people who link to you = the more hits you will get in the future. There is a basic "refresh" time period of about two weeks while the search engines update all their indices as well, so you won't see results right away.
