Folks, a friend's daughter's rig went belly up when the HDD died. I replaced the HDD and have been tearing my hair out since she never got any restore/recovery disks with this rig when she bought it at Wally world (Wal-Mart!) What I need is the restore/recovery disks for an H-P Pavilion 6623! And quick! Any help would be greatly appreciated! ;)
I can be reached at rrudd@ec.rr.com
Thanks folks!;)

I've redone a couple PB's and one HP. all I did was install 98 the old fashion way, disable onboard video, put in a inexpensive video card, tossed out the stinking modem/sound card comb garbarge card and put in a real modem and sound card. these three machines are running better now then befor..
Remember: your milage may vary :)

I work for HP when did she get it
She bought the comp about a year and a half, maybe two years ago so I know she's out of the warranty period. Madfish, I agree with you. I wish I could just plug in a different sound card, modem and even a decent PCI video card but she can't afford that and I have a family to feed too. Right now the most cost effective solution for her is to get those recovery/restore disks for as cheaply as possible, if not for free. At this point I have almost 12 hours of trying different drivers for everything. The audio, modem and video drivers just ain't workin'!!! If she could afford it I'd rip out that MoBo and put in a nice little GiGaByte that I have along with the K6-2/550 that's mounted on it right now!

Thats the only way to do it. When I worked for Best Buy we had people do this alot. we sometimes had extras laying around and would give them away, but most people would have to buy them from HP.
I always loved the "Mine didn't come with the discs!". Sure. you just threw them away.
