AOL 6.0 released today

I don't see any real improvements in the new version.... they probably added some spyware to keep track of us.

Rat.. Added spyware? I am sure aol has been watching its users closely for quite a while. I have yet to download it so I haven't been able to try it yet.... But I will post my thoughts when I download it. Should be late tonight.

Voogro.... Do you ever think while you type or do you just hammer at the keyboard? If you can't form an intelligent reply why bother posting? Your reply just goes to show that member status is not equivalent to member value. But hey, you are one more closer to ultimate and that is what it is all about. Right?

Gomer, I say added because I already ran Opt Out on my system along with a couple other soyware detectors and they came up clean (except for the Web3000 my son-in-law managed to put in). AOL was never fingered by the spyware sniffers.

I didn't mean that aol already had "spyware." They don't need any spyware. Thry just watch where you go while using their service. Sign on aol and start surfing, they start watching. Like I said, it doesn't bother me. With millions of users, they would be stupid to not pay attention where the users are pointing their browsers.

If the above comments count toward member seniority status I am even less impressed with "Ultimate" than before.

Any problems using Power Tools with 6.0? I have it downloaded but am waiting for PT's to patch any glitches with it.

Well doesn't seem to be anything special about it. It does have a better address book now but that is about it. It looks a lot crisper now. Sharper.

Anyway, I just use it for mail and a means of connecting to the net. The rest of the content is just fluff to me.

I have been using 6.o for a while (beta) it still has a lot of bugs. If you use 6.0, keep 5.0 on your desktop because of all the wild log on issues that are going on. I like the new version but my opinion does not count because I can be perfectly happy using netzero. There is no broadband in my area.

As for the rest of you cry babies, I started out using genie, if you think that was better you are nuts!
