Broke up with GF;
GF puts SetUp passwords on all PCs;
GF leaves house;
I remove passwords on all desktops;
Unable to remove password on Dell laptop;
Unable to find receipt for Dell laptop (Dell requires proof .. @$#% keeps receipts from swap meets?); and,
Getting ready to donate laptop to Salvation Army.

There has to be a way to clear the BIOS password on that thing.... Tried taking the battery out?

go here to Dell (http://delltalk.us.dell.com/default.asp?fp_id=0&sid={744AEC40-472F-47E8-9052-5CEDA659E3EA}) and ask for help, they helped me with the same prob with one I got from Ebay.

That's easy.... Trust me... It's a lot easier than putting up with that kind of gf... Better yet donate it to me, I just live maybe 30 miles from you.... :)

Just go to the Dell fourm Right here (http://delltalk.us.dell.com/default.asp?fp_id=0&sid={744AEC40-472F-47E8-9052-5CEDA659E3EA}) and they can help you out. there is no need to give it away.. worse case is you might have to replace the security chip in it and solder in a new one. it's not that hard. I've done it to two Dell's I've got from Ebay..

ROFL!!! thanks gents! Thank god I'm such a lazy sack ... (with certain tasks only) I haven't donated it yet and I've got some vacation days to burn so I can follow-up with Dell. I'll give an update. Now there's this cool drop-dead gorgeous chick who knows squat about Quake2, the Control Panel, or what BIOS means. My next live-in partner? w0000t!!!!
