Ok doin phone support for my dad now..

He just hooked up a NIC into his PC and now his DNS requests are going to the wrong adapter.

the nic is only for filesharing to another pc and not for inet.
He dials up and connects fine, but dns is going through the NIC instead of Dialup.

We set the DNS ips on the dial up connection manually as well.

Any help?

--- edit ---
Sorry he's on win98, and also there is no pc at the other end as of yet.

Are there any DNS IPs set for the NIC?

I had him set the IP on the NIC to 192.168.1.1 subnet mask of 255.255.255.0
No gateway, DNS is disabled in TCP/IP (with the NIC)

I know we can ping the DNS server.
I did try that one earlier.

Unfortunately I can't do a nslookup on win98
