Uninstall Direct X 8.1?

I just recently downloaded the Direct X 8.1 from www.microsoft.com. I installed it and ever since I have been having some problems with it, Same with when I had Direct X 8.0.

Is there anyway to uninstall Direct X 8.1 so I can try out Direct X 7.0 to see if it is better?

DirectX becomes part of the Windows operating system once you install it. There are many third party applications on the net that will remove DirectX, but be warned using these applications may trash the Operating System. Just do a search on your favorite search engine for "DirectX uninstaller". If you would like to remove DirectX safely, then format your hard drive and reinstall Windows :-)

what kind of problems do u have with directx 8.1?

I had problems with DX8.1 when I first installed it.
I fixed it by installing DX5 from a game cd, DX7 (whatever the newer one was), DX8.0a, then installing DX8.1 again. I have no problems anymore. DX8.1 doesn't have some of the necessary files that DX5 and DX7 has.
