As within performance ofcourse. Any site for benchmarking both those 2 together? vidribbin 12-13-2001, 11:58 AM If i were you i would get the ti200 it has the new geforce 3 chip so you will be bang uptodate and i heard it is a good overclocker too. Correct me if im wrong, but as games stand at the moment the ultra is allmost as fast as the ti because games developers have not optimized games for the geforce 3 chip UWConvoy 12-13-2001, 12:00 PM Definitely go with the GeForce3, regardless of model. It has the programmable GPU that will hopefully be utilized in games soon, plus it supposedly supports all DX8 features in hardware. The Ti200 is just slightly slower than the GeForce3, but if you have adequate cooling, you can overclock it to speeds approaching those of the Ti500. I'm getting a Ti200 for Christmas :) The GeForce2 Ultra, though quite fast, is still essentially last year's technology and not nearly matching any GF3 model (from what I've seen, at least). Here's some benchmarks with the GF2 Ultra, GF3, GF3 Ti200, GF3 Ti500, and Radeon 7500 and 8500. (it's an article about the Radeon 8500, but has some interesting benchmarks results): http://www6.tomshardware.com/graphic/01q4/011107/radeon-03.html (The (XP) by some tests indicate that the test was preformed in Windows XP) UWConvoy 12-13-2001, 12:03 PM Oh, and with the GF2, there are definite memory bandwidth limitations, severely reducing performance at high resolutions. Jimstep 12-13-2001, 05:41 PM Go with the G3Ti200. You might as well get the latest technology while your unloading some money. Rugor 12-13-2001, 05:55 PM Geforce 3 Ti200 Yes the GF2 Ultra may be faster in a few games because it is clocked higher and has more memory bandwidth. But, it is less efficient and far less future proof than the GF3 Ti200. The GF2 Ultra's speed advantage will go away as new games come out especially as they start requiring features it doesn't support. Hope this helps kvk007 12-13-2001, 07:41 PM Thanks all for the feedbacks. I just ordered a GF3 Ti500. Wow.. that is gonna kick some *** ha??? SysOpt.com
