Hi!
I remember reading some posts (many moons ago) on the problem of 3.5" floppy drives searching for data even when no diskette is in the drive, and how irritating it was to many. The system that is driving me nuts is composed of the following:
> M6TBA 440BX mobo with 333 MHz Celly
> 128 MB PC100 SDRAM
> 30 GB WD HD
> 100 MB IDE Zip Drive
> 40X CD-ROM
> DSI 56K V.90 ISA Voice/Fax modem
> HP Printer
> PCI Ensoniq soundcard
> Generic speakers
> Logitech cordless keyboard & mouse
> Win98se
> Norton Anti-Virus
> Couple photo programs, e.g., Adobe
I originally resolved the problem by disabling the "A" drive in the Award Bios CMOS setup. Worked fine, but my wife uses that computer and prefers not to be going in and out of Bios in between floppy drive use. Any known fixes would be appreciated!
Thx. Brangwen http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif
