Who made this CDRW drive?

Does anyone know what kind of drive the Smart & Friendly CD-Speedwriter RW 4x4x24 is?
I've heard a variety of companies. JVC, Ricoh, Yamaha. However, if it was a JVC, the few who said it was couldn't explain how it could be as JVC supposedly never made a 4x4x24. Noone seems to really know though. Also, if you know who made it, can you tell me it's original model number before S&F got their hands on it?

Actually, Smart and Friendly didn't get their hands on anything. That is the name of that company. Smart and Friendly used to make CDR and CDRW drives for OEM companies such as Sony, Toshiba, JVC, etc. Now they go by their name "Smart & Friendly".
