Does 133 MHz memory offer any advantage to 100 MHz memory for an Athlon Thunderbird? I have seen systems offered with both but don't know if it is gimick or value.

I currently have PC100 on my Athlon and that is pretty much spec. If you don't overclock your Athlon then you are running a 100 Mhz FSB and that's all you need. PC133 isn't faster at 100 than PC100 is - it is just rated to run at 133 Mhz whereas your PC100 might or might not run over 100 Mhz. Thus, if you plan to overclock your Athlon by upping the FSB then you would want to buy memory that could handle the increased bus speed. Otherwise, it makes no difference whatsoever.

for an Athlon system you do not 'need' 133
