Anyone have any experience with a PCChips M830LR Mobo? i have been using these for a little while with great success until recently. Everything installed fine but I am not getting any sound out of the box although Win2KPro says the onboard sound device is working properly. I checked the speakers.
No PC sounds, beeps, mp3's, cd audio... nada.
Thansk for any help you can provide!

Well 830LR is better known as ECS K7S5A. Same thing. Many many people have it, it's been the overall best selling mainboard ever since it came out.
The onboard sound's output is a Line-Out not a Speaker-Out. In other words, you need amplified speakers.

Thank you for the reply. The speakers are powered and I have tried two pair just for fun that work on my production machine just fine. They are your typical PC speakers that I hev used to test many systems I have built using this board and its close relatives.
There seems to be some other problem. Perhaps the board is simply bad.
Thanks for trying to help!! :-)
