Hi,
When I enable the UDMA in BIOS and windows 98 SE, My system hangs.

My HD is a Quantum (Maxtor) 40Gb. UDMA/100
and my MoBo support UDMA/66. I read a lot about that and there is no incompatibilities between (in theory).
I have now using my UDMA/100 disabled and run slow, only support UDMA/33 (very slow)
I have a CD Burner Samsung 16/10/32 connected to secondary Ide Port.
My HD is alone in Primary port.

Please help,
MCalmon

hi there,

I've had similar problems, all I can suggest is that you make sure that you have the latest mobo drivers, say if the mobo is a via thaen go for the latest 4in 1 drivers. Give that a whirl and see if it helps.

Cheers;)

I had this too with my 20 gb maxtor udma100 drive. The VIA 4in1 drivers solved the problems for me too
