It changes every time I reboot, but it doesn't always happen. Right now is one of the rare times when it is its good old "Start" self!

Right now is one of the rare times when it is its good old "Start" self! Imperion1 10-26-2000, 07:09 PM I wish mine would do that. Wouldn't have to use a hex editor to change the button then. Haven't changed it in awhile though. And yours changes automatically. That would be cool. Rat 10-26-2000, 07:51 PM I had a graphics card go bad and strangely enough among other things, it would do the same thing you described to my START button. Rat... "The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other ******* die for his." --George Patton Gryph 10-26-2000, 08:12 PM It happens regardless of the graphic card used. I have used 2 cards during the time that this has been happening. (They have both been nvidia based though, using basically the same drivers.)It doesn't seem to hurt anything. I'd just like to know what the heck is causing it!!! Gryph 10-27-2000, 12:22 AM Each and every time I start windows ME, there is something different in place of my start button. Actually, the rectangular button is still there and works fine, but it has been "covered" with graphics. Some times it is the memory chip logo from mother board monitor, sometimes the red "A" from my aopen sound card icon, sometimes it is a corner or piece of a graphic that looks vaguely familiar, sometimes it is just garbled blocks or lines of color. Every once and a while it actually reverts to its old "start" self. This makes absolutely no sense! could this be some sort of virus or something? KAknight 10-27-2000, 12:33 AM Have you been downloading any screen savers or little games/cute programs lately? It is just the start button or is it the entire bar? Does it change every time you reboot, or will it change when you are working? SysOpt.com
