I was just given a tower (which includes PIII 450 CPU, motherboard, video card). I added all the extras (floppy, CD-R, HDD's, etc.) from my previous computer (PII system with 440BX motherboard). After having some problems with the floppy, it finally booted up. But it took literally a day and a half to get into windows. I have tried rebooting without the floppy, cd-roms, only 1 HDD, sound card, and modem connected and it still does not work. I also tried using only the RAM that was given to me. I disabled the floppy and CD-ROMS but still didn't work. I also tried booting up with the windows floppy, but that didn't work. Any suggestions.

Wow... you actually had the patience to wait that long for Windows to boot? :p I would've given it up for frozen and shut it off. While it's loading Windows, is there constant hard disk activity? Try booting it up in safe mode and see how long it takes.
