I've noticed that on two different machines, one w/ 30GB IBM, the other w/ 60GB IBM HDDs, on start up or whenever selecting another partition ( besides C: ), I can hear the heads making that "clacking" sound 3-6 times or so, as the heads traverse and search the platters. Is this normal? I don't hear this on another
PC w/28.5GB Seagate drive, or on my Dell at work.
Thanks for your help and input.

I have an IBM DJSA210 10Gb drive in my notebook and it has the same problem. It also clicks sometimes during normal running of OS. I don't know what this could be, I don't know anyone else with this problem.

If the ibm is a 75gxp then that could be the problem since they were recalled and or discontinued.
