Read it here http://www.amd.com/news/prodpr/9980.html KillerBug 06-24-1999, 04:26 PM ****! Now I need to scrape up like $500 bucks! Anyone interested in an ABIT BH6 w/P3-450? BBA 06-24-1999, 06:40 PM I wouldn't buy one just yet... They always say the latest AMD's perform faster/better than Intel, but I have never seen anything from AMD that held up to it's claim. Lets see some serious real life comparisons like Quake and Photoshop and such! BBA KillerBug 06-25-1999, 10:11 PM Even at that, it is fast, cheap, and has 3D-Now, not quite as powerfull as SIMD, but it is supported by more than 3 programs, all made by Intel! JimS 06-26-1999, 07:29 PM I am going for the K7 also, but will wait until the L2 cache speed is same as CPU speed. If AMD's early benchmarks are accurate, a full speed cache should really smoke anything Intel has. As far as I know, the first K7's will run at 1/3 or 1/2 speed for the L2. We have all seen what a difference full speed cache makes, as in K6-III and Celeron. Stan 06-28-1999, 09:04 AM Cool, new K7... but what about mobo to support this CPU ??? From what I have read, it runs on a 200MHz FSB. Stan KillerBug 06-28-1999, 03:36 PM Arent AMD unlocked? If so, just do like 133x6 for the 800, or whatever. SysOpt.com
