Two questions: 1) Is this the hard drive you are booting from? 2) Why do you want to do this?
If it's the drive you are booting from, then things are a little more complicated. You have to make a boot disk, boot from that disk, and then format the hard drive from that disk. If it's an extra drive, you can just plug it into your system, partition it, and format it. To make the boot disk, right click the disk drive, then go to format. Check the option to copy system files. Format the disk. Go to the Windows directory, then the command directory. Copy the FORMAT file to the disk.
