Imperion1 12-10-2001, 09:49 PM Looks good to me. What do you have for ram and a vid card? vibe666 12-10-2001, 09:59 PM i looked around for quite a while before i bought a board and decided to pay a little extra for the ASUS A7V-E. I haven't looked back. an excellent board with any AMD processor in it, the faster the better. but don't be tempted to go for a cheaper MoBo so you can get a faster CPU. any gain in the CPU will be lost with a cheaper MoBo. IMHO Kurylo 12-11-2001, 04:35 AM I'd like to have such system at home. [shawn@localhost /home]# 12-11-2001, 03:52 PM im getting something close to that speed tomorrow, YES I CANT WAIT YES YES!!!!! im gonna run me a TFC server and im gonna play Diablo2 ALL DAY LONG WITH 1000000000000000 FPS!!!! :) vibe666 12-12-2001, 12:42 AM my last system was a P233 with 96MB RAM and a 6 gig HD. I went up to an T/Bird @1.1Ghz, 512MB PC133 RAM, 40GIG ATA100 HD and a 32MB ATI All In Wonder128 (handy for the TV Out for my purposes) and I am so chuffed. I even got 512K ADSL a few days later. I literally had to scrimp and save for months to get it all. the ATI is second hand, but it works fine for me. I just finished max payne at 800x600 32bit colour and it was like watching a movie. excellent. next step is to get a 64MB GeForce3 card and see how that goes, but there is so much else i need to get going first. i have all the bits to make a second system out of my old bits from my last one, i just need to get another monitor first. christmas is coming though, so who knows. Rugor 12-12-2001, 01:02 AM I'm putting together a new system on the weekend Athlon XP 1800+ on a GA-7DX------not perhaps the DDR board I would have chosen but it was free from AMD so I can't really complain. Going for 256mb of RAM but only a TNT1 until I have money for a new Vid-card. booya 12-12-2001, 07:18 PM i got 256 ddr ram and im using right now a readon ve on the system ... but i have a ati rage pro card (i will not test this puke on vidcard) i might try my geforce ddr dvi from guiullemot or my voodoo3 or my voodoo4 4500 but i was thinking wich card will give me best fps with the new system the readoon or the geforcddr dvi i was using them on a celeron 566@640@708(depend on temp outside :) ) and the readon was slightly faster but only 2 or 3 fps faster thanx in advance :) Kurylo 12-12-2001, 07:47 PM And the same would be for GF3. The purpose is that contemporary CPUs are unable to load the accelerator to 100%. There is always some speed storage in the new cards. CPU becomes the bottleheck. Cool !!! ;) SysOpt.com
