I have an SB Live soundcard (updated drivers) and a Thrustmaster Grand Prix 1 racing wheel.

I cannot for the life of me get the system to recognize the wheel. I can intall the wheel under the game controllers in win98SE custom setting, but it continues to list the device as "not connected" when in fact it is.

Don't have much experience at all with installing racing wheels, and am wondering if you could give me a hand with your suggestions.

Also, if there is any question as to compatibility between these devices, please call that out as well.

When you disabled the onboard sound did it disable the onboard gameport? If you take out the soundcard and use the onboard sound and gameport does the wheel work?

Have you tried the wheel on a different system? Have you made sure you dont have any conflicts with the joystick port? Have you tried uninstalling the soundcard and reinstalling it?

Hey MntSnow...thanks for answering.

I have tried the wheel on a different system, and it did work.... On the current system, no conflicts show up in Device Manager....and I have uninstalled/reinstalled both the Soundcard and its drivers. Even tried a different PCI slot for the Soundcard. Still doesn't work.

Motherboard is an Abit SE6 with on-board sound, but it is disabled.

Can you see why I am a bit confused?
