How can I make windows XP use IRQ's that are not currently in use...

I think if ACPI is enabled Windows will not let you change anything, or will not change anything...

I wanted my video Card to use IRQ10 which is not being used and another card use IRQ 9 and IRQ5 etc.

Currently using IRQ 11 are
Highpoint HPT370A Raid
Geforce 2 GTS
Game Surround Fortissimo
NIC
ACPI compliant system
VIA USb Controller
Adaptec Aha 2940

I wish I could use more IRQs available...

Any help?

You have the right idea. However, IRQ assignments are done through the system BIOS on your motherboard. The operating system has nothing to do with assigning IRQ's.

Refer to your motherboard's manual, it should have a section explaining how to do it. If you have lost your manual, usually they are available through your mobo's mfg website. It is usually in a *.pdf format, so you'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader v5.0 to view it, it's free from Adobe's website.

When you go into your BIOS, if you're not using your serial ports or some USB ports, you can disable them to free up more IRQ's.

I hope this helps you in your quest for the IRQ's.
