I rigged up an old cheap computer speaker (you know the kind - cost about ten bucks and has a little volume knob on it - in my old system it was the right speaker) that had a small built-in amplifier by taking the back of it off and soldering in 2 RCA (standard speaker) jack connections that I got from Radio Shack. I drilled 2 holes in the back of the little speaker case to accomodate the RCA jacks. Then I simply plugged the cable from the old speaker into the OUT jack on my sound card and then plugged each of the two speaker leads into the RCA jacks I put on the back of my little home made amplifier. I can blast the speakers as loud as they can go if I want, and I only have a cheap PCI soundblaster audio card! Hope this helps. dathenv 12-09-2001, 03:04 AM Is there any simpler way....??? maurice7 12-09-2001, 03:15 AM Yes, there is, if you have the right cable. All you have to do is buy a cable from Radio Shack to connect from your computer sound card to the auxilary input jacks on the back of your stereo system. Then when you set your stereo to AUX, the sound from your computer will play through your stereo amplifier and come out your stereo speakers. The cable costs about 10 dollars at Radio Shack. They will need to know the kind of output jack your sound card uses and the type of connector your stereo uses (probably RCA jack). That will do it. Please be aware that your stereo amplifier will overamplify the sounds from your computer, so be careful you don't blow your stereo speakers out.
