Hello
how do you find out what kind of motherboard you have on a computer ? i own a compaq presario 5151 series computer and the motherboard is burned out , and i need to repace it with something other than a compaq motherboard I went to the compaq site and it said we have a (MVP3) 4MB w/ FP w/ NIC but i dont understand that ! Do you know what kind of motherboard that is ? Thanks !

Doesn't really tell you too much...just the chipset and that is has an onboard NIC. What type of case is it? If it is special you will need to go with a direct replacement of the motherboard you have now. If it's not and just like a uATX then you could probably get a away with buying a uATX board and using the processor you have and place that in the system.

I dont' know enough about that specific compaq model to tell you anymoe than that

ok , i want to replace the case & motherboard , but is there any specific type of motherboard for this computer ? its an AMD 350 K6II processor . Do you know of any good types that are reliable and not too expensive ?

Well if you are going to replace the case and motherboard and want to use the exsisting components you will need a super socket 7 board...as long as it supports the k6II up too 550 you will be set.
