Ahyel 12-07-2001, 08:20 AM Any suggestions? muchmark 12-07-2001, 08:48 AM Right now there are big problems with IBM's over 60GB drives you might want to read here. (http://www.pcworld.com/news/article/0,aid,59943,00.asp) Imperion1 12-07-2001, 05:39 PM I like all 4 of my Maxtor drives. No problems with them. NDD 12-07-2001, 06:13 PM What size you've been thinking of ? I'm working with all kinds of HDD, from all major makers, and so far - if you want top speed, you buy either IBM 60GXP or Seagate Barracuda IV. I do aware of all the posts about failures in IBM drives, but if you'll look for more info on the subject, you'll find that many people out there have problems with their HDD, not from just with those made by IBM. I've sold so far about 50 of both 75GXP and 60GXP, all work fine, no complaints. Best Regards ... dathenv 12-09-2001, 01:38 AM How come no Western Digital?? I thought it's good... that's the HDD I have... arthur888 12-10-2001, 10:02 AM I use some Maxtor drives and I have no problems, except when used with promise IDE RAID controllers. But for normal use Maxtor is good. asterias 12-13-2001, 04:59 AM Ive just bought a maxtor 7200 dx740 drive, very good indeed. Sped my aging system up nicely. Very quiet too. Definately the one to go for:cool: AndreRIO 12-15-2001, 03:10 AM And I thought that IBM were the only answer... clearly the others hds manufactures are good too.
