My Abit-BE6-II recently died on me after running a P3-800EB on it for around 3 months. I never knew running 133mhz fsb on a 440BX would eventually fry my mobo. Right now I'm not too high on resources and decided to buy the asus-TUSL2-C which was before consulting a friend of mine. He advised me to sell the chip and get a duron instead with an amd mobo for the reason that P3 will be phased out very soon and I'll be stuck with an outdated i815 chipset with no hope of upgrading. I'm not too sure on whether I can sell my chip(don't know much bout selling online) and think I should go for a cheaper motherboard like the Abit VH6-II so to lower costs. And if I decide to get the Abit VH6, I'll upgrade my aging voodoo3 3000 to a MSI Geforce2 MX-400. Among all these decisions, what should I do?

a)Sell P3 chip and buy cheap duron and motherboard
b)Get the Asus TUSL2-C mobo because the P3's still worth investing in.
c)Buy the cheap Abit VH6-II because it would work just as well

I swapped my cusl2 to a tusl2-c recently. I am looking for a tulatin chip myself, heh.

if you don't intend to play much games then keep on using it. get a cusl2 for roughly around 80 dollar or tusl2 for 100 dollar

Any major diff. between the two mobos? And P3s are still capable of giving out good performances for games right? say maxed out settings at 1024x768?

I'd stick with the PIII it's still a good chip and going from a PIII 800 to a Duron you aren't going to notice much a difference. Just look for a tualtin compatiable mainboard so you can upgrade in the future if you want.

Good Luck!!

Maybe try a Tyan S2080...it has an i815EP chipset...costs a few bucks less than an Asus!
