How does one make a homemade antistatic wristpad/mat

How can I make homemaade antistatic wrist pad and do i really need it, i will be assembling my comp. on the marble/stone table and standing barefoot on the linolium.

While I guess a person could make one, you can simply buy one Radio Shack for less than $5.00.

BTW, if your properly grounded by touching the computer's case during assembly, then you really do not need one.
