I need people out here to give me their suggestions on which Ethernet card would be the best and that you yourself would recommend that I use for both Window$ and Linux... If possible I would appreciate the Brand and Model of the NIC.....
I currently have a D-Link DFE-550TX, but some of my friends suggest 3COM and LinkSys,
which one of these two would be best...
Thank You to all who respond..

Well Does the one you have now work in both? If it does I dont see anyreason to change.
I have a few LinkSys EtherFast Nic from wall-mart and they all work fine in Linux Mandrake and windows.

There's a thread going on about your NIC and Suse at http://sysopt.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=91341&highlight=linux
I've had no problems with either the 3com 509's nor the 905's. I personally haven't gotten full 100Mb out of the 905's in Redhat though :(.

I currently use a Linksys LNE100TX NIC card and it works very well for me. Comes with driver disk and should cost about $20-25 at most stores. One of the best I have used.
