I'm trying (though I'm not sure why) to install AOL 7.0 on my W2K machine which uses an ISDN modem. I keep getting "Access company not responding" (or something like that). The modem connects to other dialup connections, and AOL7 works if I use one of those other dialups as a TCP/IP/LAN connection to it rather than a direct connection to AOL. Any ideas?

Take a look in setup for expert setup and see if theres an isdn or lan you could use instead should be a few different types in there such as cable modem etc. don't remember all of them off-hand.

Actually I've done that and unfortunately, no ISDN modems are listed. There are modems of the same manufacturer (MultiTech), but none are ISDN.

I've emailed back and forth with AOL support a couple of times only to find their help severely lacking. Further, whenever I call "all consultants are busy...please try back later..." God, I hate AOL!! If it weren't for my wife, I'd stop wasting my time!

By typing in "isdn" keyword this is part of what you get.

America Online's software allows you to connect to AOL using TCP/IP over the Internet from your ISDN Modem.

To connect to America Online using TCP/IP :

1. Connect to your ISDN Service Provider. (If you need help with this part call your ISDN Service Provider).
2. Leave that software connected and launch America Online.
3. On the Sign On screen, click Setup.
4. On the AOL Setup screen, choose the Create a location for use with new access phone numbers or an ISP option and click Next.
5. In the Add Location window, type a name for the location (for example, TCP/IP location).
6. Click Add a custom connection (for example TCP/IP) and click Next.
7. A TCP/IP location will be created automatically.
8. Click Sign On and you will connect to America Online over the connection provided by your ISDN Modem.

Hope it helps.
