Techjumper:
Try here for some technical information on Bluetooth: http://bluetooth.ericsson.se/default.asp .
Bluetooth is the standard for high-frequency wireless communications between computers, peripherals and telecomms products. It basically unifies the interconnectivity of computers and other electronics (and some manufacturers even say appliances!). The EU, particularly Ericsson and Nokia are pushing this standard, but Motorola and many state-side suppliers have bought-in in a big way. Don't be suprised to see Bluetooth-compatible products in the 1st and 2nd quarters of next year (in great profusion).
Bluetooth, like everything new, is touted to be better than sliced bread!! It has a use, however there is a distance (300 ft??) maximum and there are security issues that still remain unresolved.
BTW, Bluetooth was a Danish count (or duke or earl) that was credited with unifying the country over the protestations of squabbling factions.
Check out the Ericsson web site...there's also a Bluetooth SIG (special interest group) that has a lot of information on the standard and compliance and members, etc. The link for the SIG in on the Ericsson site!
Enjoy...

Tony, you are the man!
Bluetooth is really nice but it is not quite there yet for some of our applications, power, harmonics and that sort of thing. I really like the way you can run a fiber, come to an impasse, use a transmitter/reciever setup then back to fiber.
The future is here. We have T-1 bandwidth through a transmitter arrangement (line of sight only) but it works for less than a $5000 investment.

Hi Mike,
Also, check out SysOpt's own Heidi Monson's article, here: Bluetooth Technology and Implications (http://sysopt.earthweb.com/articles/bluetooth/index.html) .
