My company has a couple of weeks training at New Horizons that they were ready to burn due to lack of interest. I am Sucking them up even if I have to go at night! One of these days broadband will be available in my area and I plan to be ready. I am currently running a windows 98 peer to peer network and I would like to set it up as a server client network. Which OS will be the best for my home network? I have the school paid for, I can spring for the software.

Not sure what type of server you are looking at playing with but if you are looking at Win 2000 Server or Advanced Server to play with you may be shocked at the price$$$$
You can get the Eval copies of Advanced Server and others here> http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/productinfo/eval.htm and you probably find 2000 Server elsewhere still on there site.
Linux is also free.

If ya got an old 486 with no HD lying around ya got yourself a router with Linux http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif http://www.zdnet.com/enterprise/stories/main/0,10228,2503199,00.html
Or if ya got a 100 mb HD you can have a pretty **** good firewall... hell of a lot more secure than any Win2k box and JUST a LITTLE bit cheaper!!
You can find HOW-TO's all over the net about doing this very same thing as well.
