Napster is everywhere.

People from every realm of the world have heard of Napster. Millions of users each day download gigabytes of data off this seemingly wonderful service. But is it so wonderful?

Lets examine Napster. How do they make money. Any such service so far that has not had advertising has failed, but not Napster.

While MP3.com was being hammered for millions, Napster remained a power, a secret power, a secret government power.
Many find this to be a serious misallocation of thoughts, but Napster has proven to be somewhat "suspicous" in how they run their business.

ADVERTISING

Don't look for it on Napster becuase there isn't any. Napster has zero advertisers, yet they find the financing to fight the GOVERNMENT in court.

Millions of dollars in contributions are flowing into Napster for a cause so blatently wrong, all I can say is "what the heck!"

THE R E A L NAPSTER

Napster is a cover-up for the Carnivor. Yes, this little baby is possibly inside you computer, behind the greatful dead or neil diamond. At first you say, "No way, Mikes a NUT!" but then, pause, rethink, am I that crazy. Carnivore had to find someway inside your machine, and Napster is it. By using human nature (when napster was under fire by the government their membership exploded) Carnivore successfully completed its mission, to get inside the computers of American consumers, voters, businessmen, children.

Disagree with me as you wish, but keep it in mind, as a conspiricy of all conspiricies, and tell me what you think. Is Napster Sincere, or Sinister?

I don't really give a rats behind if carnivore is in my computer. I don't have anything to hide really. The benefits of Napster (to me) far outweigh anything carnivore does to me. Interesting theory though. How do explain the story behind the kid that wrote it? I know the government has done stuff like that before (Hughes and the Glomar Explorer incident (sp?) come to mind. Also, I think the majority of napster users are college students utilizing the network of their universities. Why would the government care that much about them? But again I don't really care. Napster does the job just fine.

LOL.....Hey Techjumper, can I bum one of those funny cigarettes from ya??

Napster is Carnivor in disguise?? I seriously doubt there is any reason to even remotely think so.

hmmm carnivor, radiate, aureate, conducent, people who would fight a national ID, (self included,) dont care what/who is crawling around in their comp. I dont have anything to hide in my library either, but still dont want people listing it. when you see what a teen aged hacker can do, ask your self what the govt. and big corps can do with the brain power at their disposal

I know its far fetched, but it was late at night, and i was tired. But Even though I'm not planning anything illegal, I still want the privacy of my own computer. -)

Best,
