Hello, I'm Daniel. I have an K5 processor and a mainboard that I can`t tell you the model, I would like to put a 20 Gb Hard Drive, but this mainboard do not support that drive disk size. Is there a way that this mainboard recognize the hard disk, but without updating the bios?
For your help, thanks a lot.

You can install a 'drive overlay'. It is essentially a bootloader that will let the OS and everything see the drive correctly even though the BIOS doesn't. Google search for more info, good luck finding one of these programs though. Drive overlays were very short lived, just a year or two in the lag time between drives getting big and BIOS getting smart.

Alternately you should be able to get an EIDE controller card for about $20 and use that.
