Win ME authentication code doesnt work

I made a copy from my brother's Windows ME disk. When i tried to install it the authentication code doesnt work. Is the software is locked? is there any way around? My bro lives in another state or I could've get the original Cd

The software is not locked per-say. You must have copied down the code incorrectly. Its case sensitive as well, so make sure you type it in exactly as stated.
