cd rw drive is not working. pls help

my cd-rw drive isnt working. It doesnt even open up any more, and the drive in not in the my computer screen. Does this mean that something came loose in the case or what?....

try reinstalling the drivers for it
what make is it? do you have a dvd or cd drive also?

Try to replug your IDE and power cables on your CD-RW and mobo.

it could be a loose cable, or hardware failure. check the simplest things first, the cable. if all looks good, try it in another system and see if it is okay.
