I'm writing my thesis at the moment and for every equation i put in i need to have a number label beside it. I want to have the equation in the centre of the line and the number justified to the right of the line. is there any way of doing this easily without have to rely on guessing the right no of spaces or tabs.

are u using microsoft equation add-on or just typing the equations manually? if you are doing the latter then i suggest u look for microsoft equation add-on under objects. this will let u do your equations easily. hope that helps.
