Is it possible to put Win98se and Linux workstation on one hard drive using partitions? If it is could you tell me how to do it?

Sure, no problem.
You can use the Linux boot loader to toggle between the two.
Probably the easiest way to set up your partitions is by using Partition Magic.
If this is your first experience with Linux, which I guess might be from your question, I recommend a little more reading and research before you start the installation.
