I was under the impression if your hard drive and mobo supported SMART that you could download it as free ware. I can't find it on Western Digitals site. Anyone know where it is?

There's a lot of information on this site, including links:
http://www.lc-tech.com/ismart.html

The following is listed as SMART Disk Monitor Home Page, but I couldn't access it (maybe it was down at the time):
http://www.compass-corp.com/smartmon.htm

This one has an evaluation copy to download and a lot more information:
http://www.santools.com/smartmon.html

I didn't see anything indicating a free download.

Or, go into BIOS and enable "SMART"

I did, now mine don't give the message
"SMART Capable, but disabled"

Also, make sure you're using the 40pin
80 conductor cable.
