Outlook 2000 / NT wont work

I am trying to get Outlook 2000 to connect to our network at work. I have gone through the setup twice. This same setup will work fine in Outlook 97, but does not work in 2000. Has anyone set it up successfully in 2000. I am about at the end of my rope with this. The PC reads the network just fine, just not outlook. We have an NT network with internet email. I can answer any questions you have. PLEASE HELP!
