CD RW help

Can anyone help me. I have an old Compaq 4550, and I wanted to know if it's was possible to upgrade the CDROM to a CDRW. I should be able to since I was able to upgrade the OS from Win95 to WIN98, then to WINME. The old zip drive was removed and an old bernoulli drive took it's place.

But does anyone know if it could be done.

And does anyone know where I could get a SCSI or IDE CDRW cheap.

There is no problem a cd-rw drive instead of a cd-rom drive.
