Having a big problem

Hey,

I was wondering if anyone could help me out, I recently got a new mobo and case to start building from scratch but after hooking up my hard drive and a few other basics, I turned it on and got power to the system but nothing on my monitor.. PLEASE tell me I did not fry the motherboard, which I suspect happened. Is there anyway I can test to see if that is what happened ? OR is there any equipment I can buy to test it ? Thanks for your time..

Ya gotta post more specifics pal. Components? Speaker hooked up? Cpu fan?

Things you can try: unplugged everything except memory, CPU and video card and see what happens.
Do you get any beep codes, is the HD spinning double check IDE cables.
