Hello
Building my first PC with AMD and VIA.
Are the 4in1 latest drivers all I need? I keep seeing new posts that say, "New VIA AGP drivers" or some thing similar.
Sorry for such a newbie question. :( And any other driver tips. Thanks for your time.:) Pack'nHeat

Oh, this is for a 8KHA+ with a 1900+ using Win98SE.

I hate to post 2 question in a thread but... same question as above but using XP PRO. All installs will be totally fresh.
Simple things like, should I download all the XP's updates before the 4in1 driver?

You all know this stuff like the back of your hand. Educate a newbie please. Thanks :)

-You need the 4in1 drivers and nothing more. Visit http://www.viahardware.com and read which version of 4in1 you need. Notice that you don't need to upgrade every time you see a new 4in1 version around. If everything is OK avoid this habbit. And anyway leave some time to pass before you install newer drivers (this goes to every driver for every peripheral or hardware component). And stay away from beta versions.

-Personally I prefer to install 4in1 prior to everything. Since this installs USB, AGP, IDE and such and everything is connected to them, I think it's better to have the platform ready before than changing it after other things are installed.
