Satalite Modems

I'm after information on the NEW 2-way satalite modems.

This is the information I currently have(for thoses that dont know)

The first Co. releasing this is called Gilat-to-Home(Now Starband)
Speed 400k-500k upstream and Down.
To be released Nov. 2000
Requires : Special dish & Receiver ($500 ish)
Service through MSN(net) and EchoStar(TV)

Does anyone have any other information on this? Especially anyone that may have beta'd it.

Check with your local Radio Shack store for info about StarBand satellite internet service. Be forewarned that currently this type of service is only being offered thru Radio Shack with the purchase of a new Compaq computer correctly configured (software is also installed) and tested. I am guessing that it may six months or so before StarBand is offered (at least thru Radio Shack stores) to those of us that may want to DIY [ourselves].

Yeah!!!!!!! They got New USB modems coming out In Jan. Im a Beta tester and you can email me if you have any questions or Problems.
