Need some advice

Hi all.

I am asking you guys out there that have a keen
interest in 3d modelling for use in games.
Me and some friends here in Norway, have made
a projectgroup that are going to program/design
a computer game that when its in the final version
its supposed to be in full 3D. We are working on a
2D version now, and have learned a lot about
"how to" stuff. (None of us have ever done anything
like it before, so its as mutch as of learning something
new than making the game "the ultimate game"
we are doing this. And its fun.. :)

Well, we are having a little arguing about what
3D studio to use to make the buildings.(outside)
We have (of course) talked about 3D studio Max,
but its a bit heavy for our use, so my question is
if anyone of you have experience with other 3D
studios that can give you most of the different
formats of 3d files?

Well, its a long shot.
