What's a good replacement for AMD Athlon 700 Slot A

I am thinking of replacing my motherboard and processor. Any suggestions to which motherboard/processor combo?

Well, if you want the best, go with the Abit KR7A-RAID and the Athlon XP 1900. They're each top of the line in their respective categories. It's what I'm getting. :D

Look for it at www.pricewatch.com (http://www.pricewatch.com/). Looks to be about $150-$170.

Most motherboards are "ATX" which is a standard set of dimensions. As long as your comp isn't a prefab (dell, gateway, compaq etc) you should be fine. If you really want to check you can get the dimensions of the board from abits webpage www.abit.com.tw (http://www.abit.com.tw/).

I'd get an athlon 1600 though, not a 1900. A 1900 is over twice as much as a 1600 for an extra couple hundred MHZ! Not worth it (would you pay $200 for a 70Gb drive when a 60Gb cost $100? Same thing).

What would be the suggestion for motherboard with SDRAM? I have 384MB of RAM and I hate to just throw that away?
