K i've been having this DVD drive eversince the operating system 98 came out...and it is DVD2240E drive and somehow i was able to get it work on windows 2000 but now just recently my computer crash so i had to redo my whole hard drive...i can't get it to work anymore...i tried different type of drives and application but still can't get it to work...it gives me error msg regarding the my decoder card...thanks...as much help as possible please..

Have you tried removing your decoder card first to find out if the decoder card is really causin all the problem?

there wasn't any problem with the decoder card...i removed and install the component again but still it wasn't working...what i think that im missing is the correct software to play it...before the Creative DVD player software was a older version so now they upgraded that version and it wouldn't work with my decoder card....thx anyways

By the way, its not a hardware issue. Its the drivers you're trying to use. I had this problem before.

Here's a link to the driver.
Its an exe zip, create a new folder. Unzip the file to the new folder.
Remove anything having to do with the DVD and Dxr board. Reboot the system.
Shut it down, reinstall the DVD and Dxr board. Reboot, when the computer finds new hardware direct it to the new folder and into the WDM folder. This is what the 2k driver uses. After the driver is installed, go to the APPL folder (DVD Program) and run the setup program.

The PM I sent is pretty much the same thing.

Well i already dled the driver u gave me and it still give me error on the device...It said "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" and for some reason when i restarted the computer it detects 2 Multimedia Video Contoller...i just ignored one and did the other one to the driver u gave me...but still it gave me the Code10 error msg....and when i try to run the program the error msg said..."THis program encounters an error while intializing the decoder device of your Creative PC-DVD hardware. Please check that the Creative PC-DVD card is installed and properly plugged in" ...thx for the help...
