Hello all.

Looking to replace my Matrox G400 32MB SDRAM video card with something with more kick. Have considered the ATI Radeon 7500, ATI Radeon 8500, & ASUS GeForce2 GTS Pro Pure. All are in the same price range. Looking for a card for graphics editing and design, with minimal gaming. Opinions/Recommendations?

I just bought the G450 with 32 mb DDR. I like it, but don't have any way to compare it to the G400 with Sdram. Other than the true 3D gaming cards, I believe the Matrox is hard to beat.

Well, if your looking for good 2D quality with little gaming i would recommend an ATI card. Prolly the 7500 is you best bet for the price.

If gaming is low on your priority list, and graphics editing is high on the list, I'd stick with the G400. Even at it's age, nobody can compare with it's visual quality and color vibrance. G450 and G550 are not faster than G400 in games, with about the same visuals.
