How do I reset the dos settings ? or is this done when you power down and bring computer back up ? I installed a hard drive and when It changed a few dos settings, I no longer can do a few things with the hard drive install disk. what do I do to restore the dos settings ?

Err.. you going to have to be more specific. What Windows are you using? What do you mean restore DOS settings?
Here's some DOS info.
Windows 95/98:
Your MSCDEX CD rom driver will have been moved from the Autoexec.bat to the Dosstart.bat because Windows doesn't want to use this old version.
If you go into Windows and shut down to DOS this file is automatically triggered.
If you are using F8 on boot up and selecting Command Prompt Only then this must be manually triggered (its in the windows directory, so if you have no Path command you'll need to swap into this directory first).
To be honest, I have no idea what your asking.

Cool a new Hard Drive! But your install procedure is confusing. After you installed the drive in the pc what disk are you using to boot the pc with?Did you partition and format the new drive? Also, if you could give us more info on the new drive, your system and O/S your going to install , it will help.
