Hey guys,

I received a dimm today, a micron stick but I dunno what speed it is.

Several dimms from micron that I have seen, which had -8 printed on the chips were all pc100.

This one has -6 printed on the chips, does that mean it is a pc133 stick??

Thanks for any info.

Ultima:

Here's my 2 cents. Run it and see. I've got memory manufactured before PC100 was even a STANDARD running at 100 Mhz--CAS-2.

I've also got memory rated PC100 CAS-2 running at PC-133 CAS-2. In fact, I've yet to have a stick of memory NOT hit CAS-2 PC-100 at the least, no matter when it was manufactured.

So good luck. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

-6?

sounds like 6ns.

pc 100 are 7-8 ns. _I_ think it is pc133... test it!

That's just it, I can't get it to fit a dimm slot.

It is a dimm, but the gaps on the bottom are so small, that I can't even fit it in a dimm slot.

At least not the boards I got lying around.

take it to computer Renaissance. they can test it for you and tell you what it is.

Is it a Rimm since it won't fit?

I remember something about different kinds of DIMM's - like EDO? - also, the little gaps placement has something to do with the DIMM being buffered or something like that.
